Singer and actor Mitt Luff, known for his deep voice, iconic rock albums Bat Out of Hell and his memorable role as Eddie in "Rocky's Movie Show," passed away this morning (Friday) at the age of 74.
The cause of death has not yet been announced, but it has been reported that the Grammy-winning musician died while his wife, Deborah, was by his side, and that he also managed to separate from his two daughters, Amanda and Pearl.
"We know how important he was to many of you and greatly appreciate the support and love you shower on us during this time of mourning, with the passing of such a wonderful and inspiring man and artist. From his heart to your souls - Do Not Stop Rocking," the family said in a statement.
Mitt Luff was born Marvin Lee Eddie on September 27, 1947 in Dallas, Texas.
Although "The Rocky Movie Show" was released in 1975, its big musical breakthrough came two years later, with the release of its first solo album, Bat Out of Hell, from the best rock albums of all time in which almost every song became a hit.
Bat Out of Hell II was released in 1992 and the lead single from it, I'd Do Anything for Love, is considered one of the great songs of the 90's.
The artist's last and 12th studio album, Braver Than We Are, was released in 2016.
In recent years Mitt Luff has stopped performing and has been reported to be suffering from various health problems.
In 2011 he fainted while performing and in 2019 he even fell while attending a horror film conference and broke his collarbone.
