Fries, wedges, potato wedges - crispy potatoes have a huge following and these potato morsels are just as irresistible.

And done quickly...

Potatoes are wonderfully versatile and are simply part of a balanced diet.

They can be boiled, roasted, fried, baked, mashed or made into mashed potatoes.

Crunchy potato variants such as fries, röstis or wedges are particularly popular.

Unfortunately, a

lot of oil

is often used and that doesn't go well with many a figure plan.

But here we have a

fat-free version

that you can enjoy without a guilty conscience.

Crispy potato bites from the oven

You need these ingredients for the crispy potato bites from the oven

  • 6 large potatoes, mostly waxy

  • 1 tsp baking powder or baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp paprika powder

  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Melt Potato Recipe:

These ingenious potatoes will literally melt in your mouth.

How to prepare the crispy potato bites without oil in the oven

  • Cut the potatoes into wedges.

    You don't have to peel the potatoes.

  • Boil the potato wedges in lightly salted water to which you stir in a teaspoon of baking soda or baking soda.

  • When the potatoes are soft, drain the water and let the potatoes steam out.

    Then put a lid on the pot and shake the potatoes well until they are properly mashed.

    The more mushy the potatoes are, the crispier they will be in the oven, so don't be too timid.

  • Mix the spices together and then mix them with the potatoes.

  • Spread the potatoes out on a baking tray without parchment paper and bake them at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes.

    Turn the potatoes after about 10 minutes.

  • You can also prepare the crispy potato bites in a cast iron pan.

    They're a great side dish, but they're also great as a crunchy snack.
