“You feel free, free to go on an adventure… And it's magic! ". For several months, Régis, a paraplegic for 30 years, has been experimenting with a system that allows him to adapt his wheelchair to an electric scooter, easily, in a few minutes. “Before, I wasted a lot of time getting my bread. I had to make several transfers to get in and out of my car, store and then get out my chair. There, I can go from point A to point B, without getting tired. It changes your life, ”continues this resident of Montigny-le-Bretonneux. Developed by the start-up Omni, this three-part support which allows the wheelchair to be fixed on the motorized vehicle, even won the Grand Prix Lépine 2021. With already 400 users in France, technological innovation is now being tested in the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines conurbation.

The idea: to offer operators of self-service electric scooters the possibility of integrating these small metal supports that clip onto wheelchairs into their fleet and thus allow people with reduced mobility to borrow the same scooters as people valid.
Among the various free-floating companies, the operator Tier Mobility, which has 1,000 electric scooters in Ile-de-France, was the first to sign a partnership with Omni.
“For now, we are in the testing phase with our own scooters,” explains Omni co-founder Charlotte Alaux.
Tier has agreed to sponsor our technology.
But in a few months, we hope that our solution will equip all their self-service machines.
A way to make the use of the electric scooter more inclusive”.
