It's every tea drinker's nightmare: limescale is spreading in the kettle again.

With simple and inexpensive tips, cleaning becomes child's play.

Munich - A good cup of tea has already driven away one or the other grief, but the preparation is not always a pleasure.

Looking into the calcified kettle has often caused trouble and you don't always have a suitable descaler at hand.

Simple household items can help.

Anyone who likes to consume sugar-sweetened drinks already has a special miracle cure at home.

Descaling the kettle: A simple trick with a popular drink

As every kettle owner knows, limescale can be easily cleaned with vinegar essence.

However, if you want to avoid the associated unpleasant and acrid smell, you can use cola.

The sweet shower is versatile in the household, at least that's what several portals such as

hausjournal.net

or

chip.de claim.

The drink, which is often demonized because of the high proportion of sugar, carbon dioxide and phosphoric acid, is said to be particularly well suited to fighting the annoying limescale due to its ingredients.

Cola against limescale: miracle cure makes the kettle clean again

The cleaning process with Cola should be very easy.

Pour about 300 to 500 milliliters of coke or as much to cover the limescale residues in the device and leave to work overnight.

During this time, the acid dissolves the lime and lets it appear in its former glory.

The kettle should then be rinsed out several times with clear water to avoid unwanted cola residues in the next cup of tea.

To make sure that the shower is no longer available, the device can be boiled again.

Descale the kettle with baking soda

Descaling with baking powder is well known and very popular.

All you have to do is put a packet in the kettle and pour water on it.

The device should be half covered with liquid before it can be cleaned.

After the water has been boiled, the kettle must be rinsed out several times and boiled with clear water, even with this descaling tip.

Denture cleaner against limescale: Wash the device well after cleaning

A fourth way to descale the kettle is to clean it with denture cleaner. Two to three tablets have to be put into the device and filled with water. The mixture bubbles first, only then should the mixture be boiled. If the device turns itself off, the solution can be removed. Again, the same applies here: wash out well and boil, otherwise the next drink will have an unpleasant aftertaste.

Of course, the information is without guarantee, household tips are rarely 100% reliable.

But a lot of advice can give a new perspective on everyday things.

For example, the small white bags labeled “Silica Gel”* that often come with the delivery of shoes and articles are thrown away.

The bags are versatile.

Mold on the wall can also be eliminated with simple household remedies.
