Fire brigade operation in an Aldi market in NRW: A discovery gave two employees a big shock.
An expert turned things around.
Witten – Huge excitement in an Aldi branch in Witten (Ruhrgebiet / NRW): A huge thing was discovered there, which those present thought was a monstrous spider.
An expert sounded the alarm on the phone - but later the supposed spider turned out to be a plastic animal.
The Witten fire brigade reports on Twitter about the unusual operation.
Aldi operation: employees find supposed giant spiders
"Spider alarm for the GW (equipment truck, editor's note) of the Witten fire department," tweeted the fire department.
"This morning the GW was called to an Aldi market in Witten.
Employees bravely put a bucket over the animal and secured it.
The animal was taken to a reptile expert by the fire brigade.”
And if you look at the photo, you will understand the big fuss: The part is huge!
Did the Aldi team from Witten follow the media?
In Georgsmarienhütte (Lower Saxony), an employee was bitten by a spider at the end of December and had to go to the hospital.
WAZ.de
reports further details.
Accordingly, two employees discovered the supposed spider in the warehouse between the pallets, where the banana boxes are also kept.
They put a bucket over it, slid a piece of cardboard under it, glued it in place and made small holes for air supply.
The alarmed reptile expert Bodo Haarmann believed it was a Mexican tarantula based on her description.
The firefighters then brought the bucket and its contents to him.
Aldi: All clear after shock – spider is made of plastic
Haarmann shone a light inside and was able to give a surprising all-clear: The thing is made of plastic!
The fire brigade also confirmed this in a comment under their Twitter post.
Accordingly, the reptile expert was able to “identify the animal immediately.
'Brachypelma hamorii' or Mexican tarantula.
But our example is very special.
She's made of plastic.
All's well that ends well.” A plastic spider, possibly a Halloween holdover, caused a terrific scare in the Aldi branch.
Another Twitter user can understand that too.
"She would have given me the rest," he writes.
A football hero was recently discovered in an Aldi branch - two days after a sensational goal.
