A single dose and tests to validate your vaccination pass: an incentive system until February 15

2022-01-23T20:08:34.404Z

People being vaccinated will be able to benefit from a vaccination pass thanks to antigenic or PCR tests for four weeks.

Last-minute screenings go into extra time until mid-March… for first-timers.

The law on the vaccination pass, promulgated this Sunday, and its implementing decree ratify the possibility of carrying out PCR or antigenic tests after its first injection, in order to benefit from a pass valid for 24 hours to open the doors of establishments receiving public (restaurants, libraries, stadiums, etc.).

“We are going to allow those who will take their first dose by February 15 to benefit from a valid vaccination pass, on two conditions: to take their second dose well one month later and, in the meantime, also justify of a negative test of less than 24 hours, ”explained Prime Minister Jean Castex on Thursday. In detail, the decree does not provide for an obligation to justify his second appointment, it simply mentions the "presentation of the proof of the administration of [the] first dose and the result of a test or screening examination [less than] 24 hours. »

If newcomers to the vaccination process do not want to know of a "white zone" in the validity of their pass, they will have to take their booster dose as early as 3 weeks after the first, since the QR code linked to immunization is not valid only seven days after the second dose (or the first, if the person has already been affected by Covid-19).

“The aim is to provide an additional incentive to simply be protected”

At the Ministry of Health, we assume the limited period (three weeks) to enter the process: "By limiting it to February 15, the objective is to offer an additional incentive to the simple fact of being protected, for people who do not necessarily go there with lightheartedness.

850,000 people over the age of 12 have taken a first dose since the announcement of the vaccine pass on December 17, but nearly 4.5 million have not received any injection.

“We have always said that the vaccination pass was an incentive to vaccinate.

Some are decided at the time of the announcement, others at the time of the concrete implementation.

We hope that as many people as possible will take this first dose, which provides individual and collective protection.

This Sunday, at the end of the afternoon, one last important point nevertheless remained to be settled on the eve of the entry into force of the vaccination pass: the decision to charge or not for the tests during the four weeks after the first injection was still "under arbitration" within the government.
