The manager of the Lorica ski lifts in the municipality of Casali del Manco (Cosenza), Alessandro Marcelli, aged 60, died this morning in an accident at work.
The man, before the opening of the lifts, was downstream to carry out checks on the cableway, when he was hit by a cabin and slipped violently hitting his head.
On site the 118 health workers and the carabinieri to reconstruct the incident.
The firefighters of the Saf nucleus (Speleo Alpine fluviale) are working to recover some employees of the Lorica ski lift where this morning the head of the facility Alessandro Marcelli died after being hit by a cabin.
The man was rescued and taken to hospital but died immediately after arriving in the hospital.
Following the accident - which took place in Pedace, in Cavaliere - the plant was blocked as a precaution.
This resulted in the shutdown of the cabins on board of which there were six plant management staff who were carrying out checks before opening.
The six are located in two cabins between pylons 2 and 6 suspended a few tens of meters above the ground and the Saf firefighters are working to bring them back to the ground.
Marcelli, in addition to being the operating director of the Lorica and Camigliatello ski lifts, a position he had recently taken on, was director of the infrastructures and assets of the Ferrovie della Calabria.
