On Monday January 24 at noon, in the halls of the Ministry of Culture, representatives of the cinema and those of broadcasters will finally sign the new version of the media chronology.
Unquestionably, Canal+ is the big winner.
Last December, the encrypted channel had agreed to invest more money (190 million euros per year) in cinema on the condition of obtaining better exposure than SVOD platforms like Netflix or Disney +.

Canal+ will be able to broadcast the films it pre-finances 6 months after their theatrical release instead of the current 8 months.
Netflix, which will have to invest between 20 and 30 million euros per year in cinema, will only be able to broadcast its films 15 months after their release.
For their part, Disney+ and Amazon Prime, which have also opted for audiovisual service status, will be able to broadcast the films in which they co-invest 17 months after their theatrical release.
