Due to a shortage of oxygen generators, the IDF Medical Corps once again enlisted to assist Sarah in oxygen balloons for the first time since the second wave of the corona.
Following a sharp jump in the demand for respiratory equipment at Yad Sarah, and following a shortage of oxygen generators, the IDF Medical Corps complied with the request of the director general of Yad Sarah and filled hundreds of oxygen balloons for the organization, which will be used by those in need.
Demand rose by 70%
In the last month, the demand for an oxygen generator has jumped by 70% compared to the previous month, and the association has only about 350 generators available.
For example, in the last week more than 300 oxygen generators have been borrowed.
Eitan Dahari, director of the logistics department at Yad Sara, notes that in addition to respiratory equipment, there has been a growing demand for home hospitalization equipment in the past month, and the branches are operating around the clock to help all applicants.
"The collaboration with the Medical Corps proved itself in the second wave," said Moshe Cohen, CEO of Yad Sara. "The collaboration helped us save many lives and prevented unnecessary hospitalizations.
"In view of the reports of the difficulty of the hospitals in dealing with the heavy loads, we call on the public to use the home hospitalization service, and together we will go through the fifth wave in peace."
