In Halle an der Saale in Saxony-Anhalt, shots were fired with an airgun at the city's "Islamic Cultural Center" on Sunday afternoon.
This was announced by the Halle Police Inspectorate in a press release.
Accordingly, two witnesses who were near the mosque heard gunshots and noticed three projectiles hitting the facade.
The shots were fired from an apartment building opposite.
There the police identified a 55-year-old man with whom the officials found a "long gun for firing diabolos and a gas pressure pistol".
The weapons were confiscated.
According to the first level of knowledge, the man has not yet appeared with politically motivated crimes, the police said.
