A small mistake with a devastating effect: Because he mixed up gas and brake when pulling a parking ticket, an 18-year-old novice driver crashed his sports car and another car. As the police announced, the young man wanted to pull a parking ticket in front of a parking lot in Waiblingen, Baden-Württemberg. In addition, he tried to throw money into a machine when the momentous mix-up occurred: instead of leaning on the brake pedal of his Mercedes, the 18-year-old pressed the gas pedal.

According to the police, the powerful Mercedes GLE then "literally shot forward", broke through the parking barrier and a fence in such a way that it became a ramp, flew over a car parked behind it and finally parked in a free parking space opposite.

He touched another car.

The 18-year-old was slightly injured.

His sports car and another car were totaled, the third car suffered rear damage.

In total, the damage amounted to around 119,000 euros.
