The data emerging from the special analysis conducted by Prof. Itamar Grotto for "Israel Today" speak for themselves: since the Corona vaccines began in Israel, at least 20,000 Israelis have survived the deaths, and without the Corona vaccines, more than 30,000 Israelis could have died so far. Including 8,371 corona victims who have died since the onset of the plague.
The data prove, once again, that vaccines are the central and most effective means - even if not entirely the only means - of trying to reduce the most severe injury possible from an epidemic: morbidity and mortality.
Moreover: the brave, determined and important steps of the Ministry of Health and the current and previous government, to give the third and fourth booster and to urgently approve vaccines for children from the age of 5, prove themselves in such a dramatic salvation of so many Israelis' lives.

However, precisely because of this, the difficult questions also arise for anyone who has not done enough, or worse, delayed, stopped and sabotaged vaccination efforts in Israel - starting with Education Minister Dr. Yifat Shasha Bitton, who in a series of irresponsible statements severely damaged children's immunization, and beyond In fact, to this day, vaccinations in schools, even if partially carried out within schools, have remained assigned due to disgust by the Ministry of Education.
But it was not only the Minister of Education and the Ministry of Education who severely harmed the immunization of Israelis.
The Ministry of Health and the four HMOs, Clalit, Maccabi, Meuhedet and Leumit, also had to and still have to make a much more massive, determined and powerful effort to be even more successful in the national effort for vaccines, which the new data show how truly life-saving.
The Ministry of Health and the HMOs had to use more means of information but also logistics, including much more accessible vaccines and special efforts with localities and population groups, such as the Arab sector, which this time, unfortunately, are less likely to be vaccinated.
Given that the vaccines are life-saving, the Ministry of Health data can be seen even more seriously, according to which about one million children and adolescents (aged 18-5) have not been vaccinated at all, about one million Israelis have not yet received the third vaccine, hundreds of thousands have not received the fourth vaccine. Still hundreds of thousands of Israelis who have not been vaccinated at all.
There is no doubt that these figures are too high, which endanger the lives of so many Israelis in vain.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Education Minister Shasha Bitton and Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz announced the abolition of school isolation, at the height of the omicron epidemic, with close to 100,000 new verified people a day and more than 600 critically ill, critical and respiratory patients. But even this all-too-irresponsible and dangerous move by Bennett, Shasha Bitton and Horowitz was not accompanied by a resounding call for vaccination and significant steps to increase the circle of vaccinated.
In fact, the complete opposite is happening: the abolition of isolation and the call for the abolition of the green mark actually keep many Israelis even further from being vaccinated, thereby endangering not only them but abandoning all those for whom the corona is dangerous, even if they are vaccinated.
These are hundreds of thousands of chronically ill patients, some of them teachers and their families, as well as families of students in isolated schools, the elderly for whom the corona may also be dangerous with vaccines, and anyone who has not been vaccinated, including hundreds of thousands of children and babies under 5 and all Who cannot be vaccinated for a medical reason.
All this, and not just them - all of us, the government is now abandoning at the mercy of the corona, which until now for two years has been found to be a deceptive, cruel and rather deadly epidemic.
