A tragic crush at one of the entrances to the Yaoundé stadium, site of the Africa Cup of Nations match between the host Cameroon and the Comoros Islands, would have caused at least six victims and many injured.
Local sources reported by the BBC.
Videos have been circulated on social media showing fans struggling to enter the stadium.
The BBC also reports that a local governor told the PA that there could be numerous victims, including minors.
The Olembe stadium has 60,000 seats but due to anti-Covid restrictions it could only accommodate 80%.
The match was played regularly, with Cameroon winning.
