Following the abolition of isolation: a drastic decrease in children's vaccines Israel today

2022-01-24T21:15:12.115Z

Gloomy data: Since the outline for reducing isolation in the education system became known, fewer and fewer children are being vaccinated • Prof. Grossman: "It is not worth the risk - go get vaccinated" • Assessment: The fourth vaccine will be extended to other age groups

Since news began to circulate of an outline to reduce the days of isolation for students, there has been a dramatic decrease in the number of vaccinators aged 11-5.

Apparently, this is a direct product of the government decision, as many parents delayed their children's vaccination in light of the possibility of sending them to school even without being vaccinated and even if exposed to a verified patient.

If before January 14, when the government's intention to reduce the days of isolation in schools began, the average number of children vaccinated was 6,000-5,000, then the data show that from that day there has been a drop in the rate of vaccination. In the last three days, we have vaccinated less than 2,000 children each day on average. To illustrate, on January 14, 5,035 children aged 11-5 were vaccinated, on January 20, 3,849 children were vaccinated, and on January 22, 2,239 children.

The chairman of the Pediatricians Association, Prof. Tzachi Grossman, is not surprised by the data.

I am talking, for example, about PIMS, multisystem inflammation, as well as the symptoms of the long corona - fatigue, weakness and muscle aches.

We see from the world that there are such phenomena in children after the wave of the omicron.

The vaccine protects and prevents a large percentage of children from reaching this condition at all.

We now have knowledge that the virus also causes juvenile diabetes and other neurological symptoms such as seizures and loss of consciousness. "

Will they expand the vaccines?

Meanwhile, epidemics team members yesterday voted on whether to allow people under 60 to be vaccinated with a fourth vaccine.

The members pointed to two questions: whether to allow anyone aged 18 and over to be vaccinated with a fourth vaccine or to allow only those aged 40 and over to be vaccinated.

A team member estimated that a decision would be made to allow the fourth vaccine for additional age groups.

The experts' recommendation will be forwarded to the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Nachman Ash, who will be required to approve it.

At the meeting of the epidemic treatment team on Sunday evening, data from the Ministry of Health were presented, according to which the fourth vaccine dose is twice as effective in preventing infection compared to those aged 60 and over who were vaccinated with three doses, and 3 times more effective in protecting against a serious illness.

These are data collected among about 400,000 of the fourth dose vaccinated, which were compared to about 600,000 vaccinated in the third dose.

As you may recall, a fourth vaccine dose is currently recommended for those aged 60 and over who have passed four months since receiving the third dose.

Medical teams were also allowed to be vaccinated.
