According to media reports in Spain, burglars have gained access to the villa of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Unknown persons stole valuables and devastated the property of the French international.
So far there is no trace of the perpetrators.
At the time of the crime, nobody was in the 34-year-old's house in the posh suburb of La Moraleja.
Benzema was in the starting line-up for the league leaders' 2-2 (0-1) win against FC Elche on Sunday evening, but was substituted in the 58th minute due to muscular problems and replaced by former Frankfurter Luka Jović.
Benzema has been playing for Real Madrid since 2009 and is one of the most successful goalscorers in the club's history with more than 300 goals.
With Los Blancos he won four Champions League titles, three domestic league titles and two cups.
For the French national team, he completed 94 international matches.
Zidane, Isco, Morata, Vázquez
At the end of 2019, intruders cleared the footballer's house during the Clásico against FC Barcelona. In February of the same year, he was ambushed by intruders. But not only Benzema is affected by such incidents. In June 2019, a series of burglaries shook the Spanish capital. Within a few days, Zinédine Zidane, Isco, Lucas Vázquez, and Atlético professionals Álvaro Morata and Thomas Partey were burgled.
According to the report, the problem is also the players themselves: They published pictures of their houses, jewelry or cars on social media such as Instagram.
That puts the perpetrators on the trail.
In Morata's case, one of the perpetrators is said to have asked for a watch that the player had shown on Instagram.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, warned their players against showing their homes on social media.
