In the shadow of the talk of ending the wave, morbidity figures continue to be particularly high • 178 new serious patients added yesterday - almost a record outbreak of the plague • The good news: the infection rate continues to fall • Prof. Ash to hospital administrators: "Add hospital beds and reduce non-urgent treatments As much as possible "

Even before the long-awaited decline, morbidity figures continue to be alarming:

178 new serious patients were added yesterday.

This emerges from data from the Ministry of Health published this morning (Monday) and updated to 08:17.

According to the data, 67,198 new carriers were discovered in Israel, which is 29.63 percent of 287,952 new tests - a record for the outbreak of the plague.

The number of active carriers in Israel is 527,223.

The number of serious patients now stands at 783 with 144 of them respirators and 17 connected to Acmo.

Yesterday, 178 new patients were added in critical condition (almost a record for the outbreak).

However, there is a decrease in severe patients in total as the number of severe patients has already stood at 972.

The coefficient of adhesion (R) is 1.24 and this is a continuation of the decrease in the coefficient, which peaked at 2.12 15 days ago.

The number of deaths in Israel is 8,447 when 11 people died yesterday and 20 people died on Saturday.

Here too the average death rate now stands at 14 people per day and is the highest in this wave.

In terms of the medical staff members who are in isolation the number today is 8,340 of which 1,150 are doctors and 2,675 are nurses.

This is a decrease of about a thousand medical staff members who are sick or in isolation.

In the shadow of the data, Israel is already beginning to talk about the end of the wave.

Prof. Eran Segal warned this morning in IDF waves: "Although we are nearing the end of the wave, the chance of being infected now is the highest since the outbreak of the plague.

This is not a fate to be infected, these are the days to be careful - especially those in the risk group. "

Prof. Segal added: "Among those aged 60 and over, we have already begun to see a decrease in the number of verified patients. After we finish the increase in new infections, we will continue to see an increase in serious illness.

Hospitals are preparing for congestion

Following the rampant illness, the director general of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Nachman Ash, sent a letter to the hospital directors.

"In recent days we have witnessed an increase in coronary heart disease requiring hospitalization and at the same time a problem has been observed in the availability of beds for appropriate hospitalization, especially in intensive care beds. In order to reduce elective activity in the coming days, I instruct you to do so.

"In addition, corona patients can also be hospitalized in non-corona intensive care units if there are closed rooms and the patient can be isolated to the hospital's infection prevention unit. 'Elective' intensive care treatments such as breast surgery, or neurosurgery, can be converted to corona intensive care."

Prof. Ash added: "I would like to emphasize that in an agreement with the Ministry of Finance and with the backing of the Prime Minister's Office, it was determined that there will be an indemnity for a decrease in revenues in accordance with the data until March 1, 2222. "Chamal Hospitalization will focus on regulating critical patients while collaborating with the heads of the hospital divisions."
