French designer Thierry Mugler, who had reigned over 1980s fashion and continued to delight international stars with his spectacular outfits, died on the night of Sunday January 23, at 73 years of “natural death”, announced his attaché press release to AFP.
"We have the immense sadness to inform you of the death of Mr. Manfred Thierry Mugler", is it also written in a press release published on the official Facebook account of the creator.

Tributes have been pouring in since the announcement of his death.
“You have changed our perception of beauty.
(…) Your legacy is something I carry with me in everything I do,” Mugler's creative director, American Casey Cadwallader, wrote on Instagram.
Singer Diana Ross also shared her grief through a post on Twitter.
"I will miss you, Thierry Mugler, it was a wonderful time in our lives," she wrote.
In the aftermath, Beyoncé, the one the designer dressed for her tour in 2003, added on her official website: "Rest in peace, Thierry Mugler", accompanied by a black and white photo.

Parisian beginnings
Born in Strasbourg in December 1948, Thierry Mugler arrived in Paris at the age of 20 to create his own label "Café de Paris" in 1973, then found the company "Thierry Mugler" a year later.
Its structured and sophisticated silhouettes quickly imposed themselves.
The Mugler woman, with accentuated shoulders, plunging necklines and corseted waists, has toured the world, from Jerry Hall to Kim Kardashian.
A year later, he embarked on the creation of perfumes.
His first female model "Angel" launched in 1992 experiencing great success, to compete for first place in sales to the mythical N°5 of Chanel.
Thierry Mugler retired from fashion in 2002, but today's pop culture icons like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Cardi B and Kim Kardashian still wear his outfits for special occasions.
