(ANSA) - TOKYO, JANUARY 24 - The Tokyo Stock Exchange has opened lower trading, with investors discouraged by the Wall Street downturns and with fears related to the outcome of the US central bank meeting scheduled for this week.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.76 percent, or 210.28 points, to 27,311.98 at the start of trading, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.73 percent, or 14.10 points. at 1,913.08.
The dollar reached 113.72 yen at the start of trading, up from 113.70 yen in New York on Friday.
