After watching the film Yesterday by Richard Curtis on Amazon Prime Video, two fans filed a complaint on Friday January 21 against Universal Studios, denouncing the absence of the actress in the feature film when she appears in the tape- announcement.

Dying can wait

(2021),

Knives Out

(2019) or even

Blade Runner

(2017), Ana de Armas caused a sensation in several major productions and already has a fan club.

In 2019, she participated in the comedy

Yesterday

directed by Richard Curtis (

Love Actually

), which imagines a world that has forgotten the Beatles and their songs.

We thus discover the Cuban actress in the trailer.

On Friday January 21, Conor Woulfe and Peter Michael Rosza both rented the comedy on Amazon Prime Video for 3.99 euros.

Having viewed the trailer beforehand, the presence of Ana de Armas in the casting in particular had motivated them to watch the film.

But after 1h56 of viewing, the two spectators had to face the facts: the 33-year-old actress was cut during the editing.

A false trailer

This comedy tells the story of struggling songwriter and songwriter Jack Malik (Himesh Patel) who wakes up after a bus accident and a bizarre blackout. He then discovers a world where the Beatles would never have existed and where he alone still knows the songs, an asset for the artist who will take advantage of it to finally know glory by usurping the compositions of the Fab4. In the famous deleted scene, Jack Malik performs the song

Something

for Ana de Armas, alias Roxane, on the set of the animator of James Corden.

Richard Curtis had already explained in 2019 to the site

Cinema Blend

concerning this cut scene.

Test audiences felt the moment overshadowed the central romance between Jack and Ellie, played by Lily James.

According to the two fans, Ana de Armas would have been left in the trailer only for her fame, used as an additional argument to encourage the sale to the rentals of the film.

The media

Variety

has thus shared a document where one can read that the two Americans would claim 5 million dollars from the production company, which they accuse of deception through this “false trailer”.
