Changi Airport (Jewel Changi Airport)
There are many places and items at the airport that you really should not touch.
And no, we're not talking about public services, but about complexes that seem relatively innocent.
True, since the corona plague broke out in our lives, there has been considerable care in cleaning up the various areas at airports, but still, it is a fertile ground for an abundance of bacteria and viruses that you do not want to encounter.
The Australian News.com website tells about some of them, in light of studies conducted.
Some have even found that alongside the prospect of being infected in Corona, airports are a place that also carries viruses from many other respiratory diseases.
So the next time you pass through an airport, it would be a good idea to avoid unnecessary contact in the following places, and of course - to stock up and use a disinfectant gel.
The following findings were published in the BMC Infectious Diseases Journal.

The computerized check-in counters
If possible, it is recommended to check in for the flight using your mobile phone or home computer, even before arriving at the airport.
The reason: Countless hands and fingers touched the touch screens of the check-in stations in the field.
The numbers are more alarming than anything you have read so far: the average in the study was 253,857 units forming a colony of bacteria every 2.5 cm. Moreover, in one of the touch screens tested, even more than a million were found. Units form a colony of bacteria per inch.

Security trays
The plastic trays in which you place your phone or laptop prior to scanning in the mirror machine have gone through countless sweaty and dirty hands.
The research team found that some of these trays also contain viruses that cause respiratory diseases.
"The highest prevalence of respiratory viruses was found on these plastic trays in security checkpoints," the study authors noted, emphasizing that viruses are able to survive relatively long on non-porous plastic surfaces.

Payment points
Let’s start with the fact that you definitely prefer not to touch the credit card readers that are in the airport stores.
After all, your card will pass even if you place it in front of the reader.
No need to really touch.
The researchers found that about half of these payment points are replete with viruses.
Passport control windows
All forget for a moment: in no way touch the Plexiglas windows of the border control windows when your passports are checked.
Especially in light of the fact that a third of those tested were found to be contaminated.

Drinking facilities
True, flying is a thirsty affair, and many tend to storm the collars at the airport after getting off the plane.
Do not do this.
It is better to purchase a terribly expensive water bottle at the terminal than to touch the operating buttons of the water facilities.
A study conducted in the United States found that these buttons were at the top of the list of most polluted places in airports.
What exactly did they find about them?
19,181 units form a colony (CFU) of bacteria per inch.
Just for comparison, on a home toilet seat there are on average 172 units forming a colony of bacteria per inch only.
The seats in the waiting area
Speaking of huge amounts of bacteria, here's another disgusting statistic: on the armrests of the chairs near the boarding gates were found an average of 21,630 units forming a colony of bacteria per inch.

Games for children
The airport games are populated with figures of riding animals, dizzying slides and other adrenaline-fueled slides.
This is really a gift for the desperate parents, in preparation for the "imprisonment" of the children on the plane for long hours.
However, the study found that 67 percent of the flotillas in these playgrounds were contaminated at a high level.
Also, quite a few lice were found in these places.
