Network 13's new reality show, "Israel's Next Restaurant", works great, but in the end, marketing decisions are the focus here as well.


"Ten minutes from the moment we announce which of them will audition - this restaurant will be invited for a week, sold out," chef Assaf Granit confidently explained to his fellow judges at the end of the premiere episode of "Israel's Next Restaurant."

And this is indeed an interesting and unusual experiment, following which we will soon find out if it is enough for Israelis to hear chefs on TV praising dishes and restaurateurs so that they will immediately want to spend their money in a conceptual boutique restaurant without understanding where they are going.

Because if I understood correctly, this is probably the format of the new reality that was launched last night on the net.

Four restaurant concepts (two of which were led yesterday by celebrities such as Aviva Avidan and rapper Lukech) stood the test of taste, service, visibility and decision-making in service moments with judges Assaf Granit, Yossi Sheetrit, Moshik Roth and Ruthi Russo.

The winner was finally the daughter of the owner of one of the most popular and sought-after restaurants in the country, and from this morning you can taste its delicacies that we saw on screen yesterday, and there is no need to explain the marketing thought behind choosing it for the opening night.

The decision also proved itself immediately when shortly after the end of the episode, the network announced that the site through which it is possible to book places for the new restaurant - collapsed due to congestion.

As a program "Israel's Next Restaurant" itself worked excellently, conveyed to the judges varied experiences, and certainly whetted the appetite of hungry viewers.

And yet, after the first episode I could not understand where the presenter Rotem Israel went, what does it take to win at the end of the competition, what is the influence of the audience, and especially how much does this whole meal cost us?
