(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 25 - International efforts are intensifying to find a diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian crisis as tension on the ground skyrockets.
NATO deploys ships and jets, the United States puts 8500 soldiers on alert.
Biden consulted with his allies and the EU, with Prime Minister Draghi present.
Confirmed support for the "sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine", underlines Palazzo Chigi, which speaks of "serious consequences" in the event of a deterioration of the situation.
In a tweet, US Secretary of State Blinken renews the warning: "If Russia chooses conflict, it will impose heavy consequences and high costs".
