Zvika Hadar changes direction: "I saw how everything collapses - so I recalculated the route" Israel today

2022-01-25T21:03:23.299Z

After two particularly challenging years, Zvika Hadar returns to our screen and this time as presenter of "The Morning World" • "I love people and it is different from everything I have done all my life"

These were definitely two very challenging years in the life of Zvika Hadar.

The man who brought the mottled costume to the screen long before Eden Ben Zaken, who starred in the timeless sitcom "Sun" and crowned dozens of singers and dancers for the stars, found himself at a crossroads.

He was absent from Keshet & Reshet's broadcast schedules, and also disbanded the partnership with "Teddy Productions" after three decades.

Then came the corona.

"You stop and start thinking, what the hell is going on? Suddenly it's over, and it's over and then Corona, and the network contract is over and not idyllic, and you say to yourself, what's going on here? "Contracts and no performances. From a situation where I do not stop answering phones with job offers, I find myself talking to my mother, my wife and the children."

What's going through your mind?

"I'm a considerate and planned person, and I said, okay, if there are no shows, then there will be TV, and if not then there will be something else. And suddenly everything collapses like a tower of cards and you slowly realize you are not in control of anything. You have two choices: One - to freak out, and the other - to think what to do now.

"Luckily for me, I have proportions in life. As a person who has had a cardiac arrest in his life, you get proportions, and experience has meaning too. Okay".

Can you financially afford to stop working?

"I have to tell you something. We are not oligarchs, as we think we are. We have to work all the time. We can take a year or two off, but we do not earn like in the United States.

I can not stop working, and the corona reminded us of that. "

This coming Sunday, he returns to a completely new challenge: for the first time in his life, he will present "The Morning World" on Network 13, alongside Rotem Israel and Miri Michaeli (Sundays-Fridays at 6:15).

"It surprised me at all that they called me with this offer," he smiles.

"I've been in a different loop and in a different situation, working with other people, where I'm the master. I thought to myself, what should I go back to rating percentages and who has passed whom by half a percent or a quarter percent."

What's more you'm used to prime time, and now it's a morning show.

"I have to admit that at first it sounded amusing, but I started talking to people and opened my head. I really like people, people, talking, interviewing, and of course the medium of television. There's something in the show that airs live. In essence, it's very different. From everything I've done all my life. "

In an interview with the "Shishvat" supplement, Hadar also talks about his new start-up, his complex relationship with Instagram, his aversion to gossip columns, and his farewell to Tamira Yardeni.
