(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 26 - The brilliant friends Lia and Lenù land on Rai1 immediately after Sanremo.

The third season of L'amicageniale, will be broadcast from Sunday 6 February for a total of four first event evenings.

We thus arrived at Storia di chifugge e di chi remains, the third book of Elena Ferrante's quadrilogy.

The director this time is Daniele Luchetti, who succeeds Saverio Costanzo who remained as screenwriter together with FrancescoPiccolo, Elena Ferrante herself and Laura Paolucci.

The third season was filmed between Naples and Florence, as well as on the famous seaside promenade of Viareggio but also in Turin.

Unchanged the two main actresses, the friends - on stage and in life - Gaia Girace (Lila) and Margherita Mazzucco (Elena) pick up where they left off. Despite their young age they have become adult women: Lenù begins to become a writer, marries becomes a mother, but is full of uncertainties, while Lila is separated from her partner with whom she had a son and lives working in harsh conditions in the factory.

The relationship between the protagonists will reserve several shots of the scene. The symbol of a new, very harsh female reality that faces the great open sea of the seventies, a scenario of hopes and uncertainties, of tensions and challenges previously unthinkable.

During the presentation to the press, the director of RaiFiction Maria Pia Ammirati underlined: "Luchetti brings the great Italian cinema into a TV series. You will see a duality of the female, but also a direction full of color. The two protagonists have grown into the series, arriving to a complex maturity. In Ferrante's works we start from the particular and then deal with much larger themes. And this is the greatest gift we can give to the great audience ".

Luchetti underlines: "I used a process similar to that of the cinema of the 70s. With many live and external shots. I had to explain to the young actors the emotional period because they did not know it".
