The Fiac lost the Grand Palais. Not Paris Photo which remains in this prestigious setting. It's a twist that still seemed unthinkable before Christmas. And which became a reality, this Wednesday, January 26, by a long, unadorned press release from the Réunion des Musées Nationaux - Grand Palais

“has selected the MCH group for the organization of a fair of 'contemporary art'

in October 2022, instead of Fiac, the emblem of France even if it is managed by an Anglo-Dutch company, RX France.

This eviction without appeal of the Parisian fair of modern and contemporary art created in 1974 amounts concretely to its killing.

Even if this successful assault no longer surprises the art world in Paris, which now cares about the future of its galleries.
