Customers of Elon Musk's Starlink satellite dishes face an unexpected but endearing problem: they're a real cat magnet!
Kenaston (Canada) – Elon Musk founded his internet company Starlink to make internet access easier and more affordable for people in remote areas.
But the $500 satellite dishes do another valuable service that no one expected: cats love them – especially when it's cold, as Landtiere.de reports.
Cats love Elon Musk satellite dishes, especially in winter
Canadian Starlink customer Aaron Taylor recently posted a picture on his Tippen22 Twitter account of five cats snuggled up in his Starlink satellite dish.
Along with his tweet, Taylor wrote, "Starlink works great until the cats find out the bowl gives off a little warmth on cold days."

Cats love Elon Musk satellite dishes because of the heating function
The highlight of the Starlink satellite dishes, which the cats really appreciate, is the heating function on cold days.
Because according to "The Guardian" they are equipped with a self-heating function that is intended to prevent snow from accumulating in the bowl.
This isn't just good news for people in snowy areas who want to stay connected to the internet.
Even cats who are outside in the cold obviously appreciate this feature.
So while no snow accumulates in the satellite dish, there are plenty of cuddling cats.
Cats love Elon Musk satellite dishes more than their heated house
In another tweet, Taylor clarified that the cats didn't choose the bowl out of necessity, but out of choice: "They have a heated cat house with water and food, but it's -25C and they decide to switch to the Starlink bowl. Then when the sun goes down, they go back to their house," he writes.
But after the Internet speed suffers from the cat's occupation, he plans to look for a new, higher location for the dish.
But until then, the satellite dish owned by entrepreneur and Tesla founder Elon Musk* will likely continue to serve a dual role: as an Internet provider and as a warm-up station for cats.
