Manufacturer recalls rapid corona tests: several million copies affected

A rapid test manufacturer has recalled two batches of its product.
About 4.1 million units are affected.
Hamburg – Rapid tests for at home have become indispensable in many households: Anyone who plans to have contact with other people, such as at family reunions, usually does a corona test in advance to be sure, to be sure that nobody with Covid- 19 to infect.
It's all the more annoying when the tests don't work reliably - which is now shown by an example from Hamburg.
Corona rapid tests recalled: 4.1 million units delivered to Hamburg
The Hanseatic city in the far north received around 4.1 million pieces of the test from the manufacturer Genrui, which have now turned out to be faulty.
As the Hamburg city portal writes on its website, the "manufacturer has published a product recall of two batches of the "Genrui SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Test Kit (Colloidal Gold)" for the German market".
This is due to false positive results.
However, the manufacturer makes it clear in the same breath that the negative results are not affected.

Batch 20211008 was delivered to Hamburg from October 2021.
According to

, most of the tests have already been used, but there are still a few left.
They are now no longer used.
The tests were mainly issued to educational institutions and official departments.
