Deleted Whatsapp messages are not necessarily gone immediately.
With some devices, they can be made visible again with a trick.
Kassel – Whether embarrassing typos or landing in the wrong chat window: Whatsapp users* have been able to delete messages that they accidentally sent for some time.
A practical function that has certainly saved one or the other from unpleasant situations.
Nevertheless, one quickly becomes curious when the chat window suddenly says "This message has been deleted".
With a simple trick you can also read deleted messages.
But that also entails risks.
Messages on Whatsapp have been deleted since around 2017.
Either you delete them just for yourself or for everyone - the latter is only possible within a few minutes.
If you clicked on the small trash can icon, the comment disappears from the chat window, and instead a note appears that the message has been deleted.
Is this gone forever?
Not necessarily, because WhatsApp messages can be made visible again with the help of certain apps.
So far, however, the trick only works on devices with the Android operating system.

After an update, you should be able to set with a simple click that you will only be notified when you are also mentioned in a chat.
