Israel today (Friday) signed an agreement with Novavax to purchase vaccines against Corona.
The delivery of the vaccines is expected to arrive in the coming months.
Under the agreement with the American company, five million vaccine doses will be provided to Israel with an option to purchase an additional five million doses.
The vaccine will be another alternative for those who cannot or do not want to be vaccinated with an mRNA vaccine
The Novahox vaccine is manufactured using protein-based technology and allows Israel technological diversity and a broader response against the corona virus.
The vaccine, which has been found to be effective in several studies against different variants, is expected to be given in two doses.
As stated, the vaccine is expected to arrive in Israel in the coming months, subject to regulatory approval in Israel.
The vaccine has already been approved by various regulatory authorities around the world, including the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the United Kingdom (with emergency approval).
In addition, the vaccine is being tested and evaluated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
