In Bavaria, contact persons of corona infected people who are sent to quarantine can only hope for continued payment of wages if they are boosted.
In general, employees who are sent into quarantine due to contact with a corona infected person are entitled to continued payment of wages.
So the state steps in if the employer stops the income for this time – but only under certain conditions.
In Bavaria, the 2G rule has so far applied to this – those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered can count on continued payment of wages, but not those who have not been vaccinated.
However, the measures have now been tightened, as confirmed by the Ministry of Health, according to the Bavarian broadcast.
Continued payment of wages in quarantine only for those who have been boosted
Now those who have been vaccinated must
also be boosted if they want to continue to receive their salary
.
The state only steps in if the quarantine could not be avoided.
"A booster vaccination offers the most comprehensive protection against Covid-19 disease," said a ministry spokeswoman.
Being vaccinated twice will no longer be enough in the future.
The Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) currently recommends a booster from three months after the basic immunization.

In order to give those affected the opportunity to get boosters in good time, a
transitional period
should apply.
According to the ministry spokeswoman, it depends on the individual case.
There are also exceptions for those who can prove with a certificate that vaccination is not possible for medical reasons.
However, people who have actually contracted the coronavirus are definitely entitled to continued payment of wages in the event of illness.

The quarantine regulations
were only recently relaxed
.
Since January 15, the following contact persons in Bavaria no longer have to be in quarantine:
Individuals with booster vaccination
People who have recently been double-vaccinated (last vaccination at least 15 days and no more than 90 days ago)
People who have recently recovered (positive test at least 15 days and no more than 90 days ago)
People who have been double vaccinated after a recovery or who have recovered after a second vaccination
Since there is no quarantine obligation for these groups, a loss of earnings is not to be expected anyway.
