Between absences linked to Covid and repeated health protocols, teachers are struggling to follow the programs.
In this context, the teachers are asking for the postponement of the specialty exams for the baccalaureate which are to be held from March 14 to 16.
A request that the unions will reiterate during a meeting this Friday at midday with the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer.
During a trip to Tourcoing on Monday, the minister had already indicated that a decision would be taken “within eight days”.
It could happen as early as the end of the week.
These specialty tests – which concern the two “specialties” chosen by high school students in Terminale – were born from the baccalaureate reform decided by Jean-Michel Blanquer, and count for 32% of the final mark for this exam.
They have never been organized before due to the health crisis.

All the unions are "aware that these events cannot be held", insists Sophie Vénétitay of the SNES-FSU union to Franceinfo.

The teachers have "the feeling of leaving the students on the side" and of "not being able to do anything to hang up" the students "who cannot follow", she adds.

Other trade unions, including the SNES (first among college and high school teachers), are leaning towards a postponement in June.

But if this postponement to the summer was announced, high school students in Terminale should chain the two specialty tests, philosophy, then the great oral, a test that is out of the ordinary for French students.
The teachers correcting these tests should, at the same time, pass the grand oral, the anticipated French tests and the philosophy tests.
To avoid the "additional stress" feared by parents and high school students, some suggest that these tests then relate "to the program planned for the month of March" in order to avoid having "new chapters to see for the end of the year”.
