The idea brandished by Éric Zemmour is not totally new, in particular on the right of the political spectrum.

At the local level, several mayors have already experimented with it.

In recent months, the municipalities of Valence (LR) in the Drôme, Poissy (DVD) in the Yvelines or Caudry (DVD) in the North have interrupted the payment of certain social aid to the families of repeat offenders.

Could a law replicate these local sanctions at the national level by establishing the suspension of aid paid by the State?

Would it be legal or would there be a risk of censorship, especially on the part of the Council…
