- The decree on guidelines and guidelines regarding the minimum quality requirements and standards for the exercise of the oleo-tourism activity was signed by the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and by the Minister of Tourism.
"With the green light to the decree - underlines the undersecretary for agricultural, food and forestry policies, Gian Marco Centinaio, - the offer of our food and wine tourism is enriched which, as demonstrated by the most recent data, does not stop its growth and can help to enhance the internal and less known areas of our country.
Oil tourism - continues the undersecretary - has great potential, it is a phenomenon capable of offering advantageous opportunities, helping to develop even more areas with a high olive-growing vocation and Italian productions. There is a double implication: cultural and economic. Alongside the training and information activities aimed at olive production, with particular regard to geographical indications (PDO, PGI), typical and local products will be enhanced, in particular those with a designation of origin, both in the olive and agri-food sectors. Through a greater knowledge of the products the consumer is put in a position to appreciate and choose quality. And then there is the winning combination with the artistic, architectural and landscape attractions of the territory in which theoleo-tourism activities.
All this - concludes Centinaio - will help to give further impetus to the sector and to our tourism ".
