The hourly wage influences how many hours you can work as a mini-jobber per month.
The EUR 450 limit must not be exceeded.
The lower wage
limit is currently
9.82 euros per hour. On July 1st there will be a regular increase to 10.45 euros. According to the draft law presented by Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD), the
statutory minimum wage
in Germany is also to rise to twelve euros on October 1st. The so-called
mini jobs*
(up to 450 euros) are also affected.
As reported by
faz.net , the
coalition agreement
between the SPD, the Greens and the FDP actually
envisages linking the
earnings limit for mini
-jobs to the minimum wage in the future.
But there is nothing about this project, which was agreed upon at the insistence of the FDP, in the Labor Minister's draft law, as the FAZ report of January 25 further states.
What is the hourly wage for a mini job?
In terms of mini-job reform, there should probably be further debate in politics at this point.
While the maximum working time in a mini-job, as the FAZ calculates, is still 10.5 hours per week with the current minimum wage of 9.82 euros, it is only 8.6 hours with a minimum wage of 12 euros.
The coalition agreement meanwhile stipulates “that mini-jobs should always be able to work 10 hours”, as
faz.net
writes;
"With a minimum wage of 12 euros, the limit would have to rise to 520 instead of 450 euros."

When does the employment relationship become subject to social security contributions?
So far,
marginal employment
has only been allowed to earn a
maximum of 450 euros per month
. The
hourly wage
influences how many hours a mini-
jobber
is allowed to work per month. For example, if you earn 11 euros per hour, you can work a maximum of 40 hours a month in order not to exceed the 450 euro limit.
If the employment is to be continued as a 450-euro mini-job, the working hours "must be recalculated from the turn of the year in order to remain under the earnings cap," the NRW consumer advice center stated on its website in November with a view to the increase in the statutory minimum wage January 1, 2022 informed.
"Otherwise the employment relationship will be subject to social insurance."
