Pop star Costa Cordalis' career had hit rock bottom in the early 1990s, a fate he shared with the entire industry.
But then came the Schlager revival - on the one hand stimulated by the semi-ironic handling of singers like Dieter Thomas Kuhn or Guildo Horn.
On the other hand, however, the hit on Ballermann on Mallorca once again established itself as party music.
And with appearances there, Costa Cordalis also made a comeback.
A new series by RTL+ called "Der König von Palma" (The King of Palma) is about the life of Germans who emigrated to Mallorca in the 1990s.
In the leading role, Henning Baum plays a German who opens a beer garden on Playa de Palma.
The series shows "the never-told microcosm of Mallorca in the early nineties," advertises RTL: "A time on the island that was excessive, but also quite frightening."

Apparently, the hit scene also plays a role in "The King of Palma", because the cast of the series also includes the role of "Costa Cordalis" – the singer, who died in 2019, is played by his son Lucas.
He has lived on the island since 2002 and has been married to Daniela Katzenberger since 2016.
Most recently, Lucas Cordalis should have fought as one of twelve candidates for the "Jungle King" crown on the RTL show "I'm a Star – Get Me Out of Here!", which his father won in the first jungle camp in 2004 .
But after Lucas Cordalis tested positive for the corona virus in South Africa, he had to leave again.
