"More than half of European adults have had their third dose since today. It is an important milestone in our vaccination campaign."
The president of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced in a short video, recalling that 82% of European adults are instead vaccinated with two doses.
"But we need to do more. Anyone can take the third dose. According to ECDC data, if all European adults vaccinated with two doses had the booster, we would avoid one million hospitalizations," she adds.
