(ANSA) - SIENA, 04 FEB - "That photo changed our lives.

I'm happy because Mustafà will have the cure".

Munziril the father of the limbless Syrian child said about the shot by the Turkish photographer Mehmet Aslan, winner of the Siena International Photo Awards, which moved the world and became a symbolic photo of the Syrian war.

"When Aslan took the picture of us I didn't know I was being filmed - said the man - I was playing with my son and it was all very natural".

The photo also triggered an agara of solidarity which led to the collection of 100,000 euros for the care of father and son.

"I am very happy because there has been someone who has heard our voice - added Munzir - and Mustafà will have the care and will always think about his future", "I thank all the Italian people for agreeing to give the care to Mustafà".

For Cardinal Augusto PaoloLojudice, archbishop of Siena, Colle Val d'Elsa and Montalcino "it will be a long journey. Mustafà is a five-year-old child, it won't be a matter of months. Within a few weeks they will go to Bologna and then they will decide if they will return or if rimarrannoli ".
