Oil, water, electricity and gas are becoming more and more expensive.

This is reflected in the heating costs of private individuals.

If you follow a few tips and rules, you can save a lot of money.

Munich - Quite a few people think that they consume the most energy in their household for electrical appliances.

That's wrong.

The number one energy guzzler (and thus the number one cost driver) is the heating.

But heating is not just about money.

Heating and heating represent an enormous burden on the environment. Because not only the apartments are heated, but also our climate.

If you follow a few tricks, you can achieve three things: firstly, a better indoor climate.

Second, to save money.

And thirdly, to do something good for the environment.

Save heating costs - the right temperatures indoors

What many people don't know: We often freeze because we heat.

The human body adapts quickly to higher temperatures.

At some point, many people no longer even notice that they are sitting in a completely overheated room.

If they then come into a "normal temperature" room, they quickly begin to freeze.

A living space does not have to be 24 degrees or more in winter.

The moderate temperature for living spaces is around 20 degrees.

It can be around 22 degrees in the bathroom.

In the bedrooms 16 - 18 degrees.

Some prefer even less.

Tip: If you get cold quickly, it is better to take a hot-water bottle to bed with you instead of heating up the bedroom.

Those who quickly get cold feet while watching TV can snuggle up under a cozy blanket.

Save heating costs, improve room climate with proper ventilation

The heating 'bangs' and the window is tilted.

"You need fresh air" - a very bad idea.

Airing in winter is fundamentally different from airing in summer.

In winter the air is mostly cold and dry.

Warm and humid in summer.

The dry, cold air from outside is perfect for exchanging stuffy indoor heating air for fresh air.

To ensure that the walls do not cool down - and valuable energy is lost - airing is required.

To do this, turn down the heating and open all the windows completely.

Rule of thumb: When the cold air has reached the corner furthest from the window, the window is closed again.

Set the heater back to the desired temperature.

Anyone who is at home during the day should ventilate in this way three to five times a day.

Those who are not at home ventilate twice a day in winter.

Right in the morning after getting up and in the evening before going to bed.

In this way you can be sure that the air has been exchanged, but that the rooms do not cool down and that valuable heating energy is retained.

Save heating costs - arrange furniture correctly and check radiators

Radiators should stand freely.

Do not hang or stand in front of a couch or curtain.

A concealed radiator cannot properly emit heat into the room.

If you turn your radiator all the way up and still think that the room is not getting really warm, you should lend a hand.

Means, feel the radiator to see if it is evenly warm in all places.

If this is not the case, it is important to bleed the radiator promptly.

Save on heating costs - warm sweater and hot meals

In winter it is actually normal to put on a warm sweater.

Anyone sitting on the sofa in a t-shirt and shorts is either extremely tough or has turned the heating up too high.

It is better to dress appropriately for the weather outdoors and to have hot tea or a warm meal from time to time.

This warms the body and is always cheaper than consuming a few liters of oil or gas.
