Some stretches of German autobahn have no speed limits and some have understood this.
In July 2021, Radim Passer, a Czech billionaire, exceeded 400 km/h there in his Bugatti Chiron and very precisely reached 417 km/h.
The video, posted on January 9, drew the ire of German Transport Minister Volker Wissing, despite the "performance" being officially legal due to the lack of speed limits.
An investigation was still opened according to the Daily Mail.
The German Highway Code specifies that everyone must “control their vehicle”.
If the investigation proves that Radim Passer was unable to do so, he risks up to two years in prison.
Contacted by “Le Parisien”, Marc Bodson, who runs a driving course company, recalls that it is of course extremely dangerous to drive a car at such speed on a motorway where other vehicles are traveling: “At this speed , we cover 115 meters in one second, we don't control much”.
An exceptional vehicle
0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, 1500 horsepower, a maximum theoretical speed of 420 km/h, the Bugatti Chiron is an exceptional vehicle made in France, in the town of Molsheim in Alsace.
Limited to around 500 copies, you have to pay almost 3 million euros for the “entry-level” model.
Georges, alias GMK on Youtube, has had the opportunity to drive several: he specializes in testing racing cars, known as “hypercars”.
“The acceleration is incredible,” he explains, “it's so powerful it nails you to the seat”.
However, the Youtuber insists on the extraordinary comfort of the car: “We can go crazy on the autobahn and we can also seat an old person who will be very comfortable there”.
He adds, with a smile, “the only thing I didn't like was the steering angle.
To make a niche, you have to do it 3 times.

The Youtuber recalls that the German driver took risks: “At this speed, the tires are under incredible pressure and rise in temperature.
Staying for so long at more than 400 km/h is dangerous for several reasons, in particular for the tyres.
If a tire bursts at this speed, the car flies away”.
