Vaccinated then infected: how to keep your vaccination pass without a mandatory booster dose?

The Minister of Health announced that having been contaminated after his complete vaccination schedule will allow him to escape the booster dose. The avail

From announcement to practice, there is sometimes a delay.

Olivier Véran announced on Wednesday February 2 that a booster dose would no longer be mandatory to keep your vaccine pass without time limit if you have been infected in the meantime.

Millions of French people, vaccinated but who have not yet received their booster, are concerned.

However, their Tous Anti Covid application still displays an expiry date, at the end of the 4 months of validity of the certificate of recovery (obtained following a positive test).

Will they have to manipulate?

Contacted, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) indicates that an update of the application “will be necessary as soon as the device is technically available, mid-February”.

In some cases, the vaccination certificate and the recovery certificate will then have to be scanned in Tous Anti Covid.

The two together will allow you to have a valid vaccination pass without an expiry date.

And with a positive test abroad?

The device will be simplified for vaccinees who have just received their positive test and have not yet received their booster dose.

First step: present their vaccination certificate (without reminder) to the professional in charge of slipping the swab into their nose.

With a positive test, this will entitle them to a valid certificate of reinstatement with no end date.

An additional difficulty arises for people who test positive in a country outside the European Union.

Apart from a handful of them such as Morocco and Thailand, these foreign states do not offer a European digital certificate (DCC).

Without this, it is impossible to have your positive sample recognized in France.

And therefore only one solution to have a valid vaccination pass ad vitam aeternam on French soil: receive a booster dose.

Which is not risky, but if you have just been infected.

Nevertheless, French people living abroad should have a conversion portal for their positive test certificate from mid-February.

It will be based on the same model as that for "transforming" a vaccination certificate outside the European Union.
