With all due respect to the pregnant mucus and sap islands that have come out of the closet, the new power couple that has been making headlines in recent weeks are Kenya West and Julia Fox.

The photogenic duo makes sure to gallop wherever there are cameras while adding interest like coordinated locks, talking about a fashionable makeover for a lady sponsored by a gentleman, adjective makeup and a comparison to the ex's style.

What ignited the pursuit of a similar style is a pair of silver thigh boots by Balenciaga that Fox wore two weeks ago while the pair took advantage of Paris Fashion Week for buzz.

This is an old model of Balenciaga ($ 1,550) with which Kim was spotted as early as 2016, long before her current obsession with the fashion house and the new campaign unveiled just recently.

The mirror boots, so named because of the leather finishing effect, with which Fox posed for Rick Evans' show were incorporated into Total Look which included an asymmetrical red-hued dress and a black maxi coat - both made of Evans design leather.

The glossy vibe was not chosen by chance and it heralds one of the strongest trends of the coming season - shiny items with a futuristic galactic look.

Futuristic-inspired clothing ideas have been employing super-designers since the 1960s, a time when spacecraft were first launched out of Earth.

Designers Pierre Cardin, Andre Courage and Paco Raban are identified with the beginnings of the futurist movement, and since then every decade the trend has taken on different interpretations.

This one relies on the Y2K wave that represents the fashionable comeback of early millennial styles, from which the strongest memories left are mostly plastic and synthetic trash, similar to the popular star of the period Paris Hilton.

Tom Ford, who was Gucci's artistic director at the time, was then considered one of the leading toners and it is not surprising that even in the current incarnation of the galactic trend, a respectable reference could be seen on his part when he presented the Spring-Summer 2022 collection last September.

The boundaries of the galactic sector include shiny items in the appearance of a silver threaded pipe designed to insulate air conditioner ducts.

It does not have to be silver of course, and any textile in a different glossy color that conveys the relevant look catches on.
