As moderator, Daniel Hartwich listens to »I'm a star, get me out of here!«.
For nine years he moderated the RTL program together with Sonja Zietlow.
But already in the last season, which ended on Saturday, Daniel Hartwich alluded to getting off.
Now RTL confirms his departure.
Hartwich is withdrawing from the show “for family reasons”, the broadcaster announced on Tuesday.
First the "BILD" reported about it.
It was always clear to him that he could only moderate the jungle camp as long as his family could accompany him to the shooting.
This will no longer work due to compulsory schooling, Hartwich said in a statement.
Therefore he gives up the moderation.
"It's not easy for me, but it's more important to me not to be separated from my wife and children for weeks."
In 2013, Hartwich followed the suddenly deceased Dirk Bach as a jungle camp moderator alongside Sonja Zietlow.
You can understand his step, Zietlow said in a statement, but it would be a shame.
»In the last nine years we have experienced and lived through a lot together.
We laughed a lot and experienced and created unique moments.«
Although Hartwich stops with the jungle show, he will remain on RTL as a moderator, according to entertainment boss Markus Küttner.
Hartwich should continue to moderate "Let's Dance" and other RTL shows.
New projects are also planned.
The broadcaster did not announce who will follow Hartwich at the jungle camp.
However, “first, very good discussions” had already been held, according to RTL.
In the social networks, however, there are rumors, and not without malice, that it could be the comedian and presenter Chris Tall.
After all, he already moderates some formats for the station.
RTL wants to announce the successor "in good time".
