“It's not as if it was planned
,” explains Adrianne Lenker, their singer and guitarist.
“In a way, the record made itself, it had its own existence.
We started it in the middle of a particular era.
When it all stopped, I was unprepared for life outside of touring.
I thought things would pick up after just a few months.”
