As early as February, some onion flowers beautify the garden as well as parks and meadows.

Those who planted in time can now rejoice.

Leipzig – In February they are slowly becoming visible: small shoots, buds and the first flowers of so-called early bloomers.

Many of them came into the ground in autumn or have been growing at this location for a long time.

Some beautiful bulb flowers can already be discovered in February and make nature a bit more colourful.

Flowers are part of every garden, but it is almost even nicer to stroll through nature or the park in spring, enjoy the first rays of sunshine and discover the first little flowers of the year.

Early bloomers venture out of the ground when it's still cold and sometimes even snow, as reported by 24garten.de.

The following onion plants are often particularly early:

  • Snowdrops: Blooming from January depending on the weather

  • Crocuses: Bloom between February and April

  • Winter lice: Bright yellow flowers from around March, some are already visible now

Snowdrops are often among the first plants after winter.

If you planted the bulbs in the garden yourself, there is a chance that the plants will overgrow over time.

According to the “Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk” (“MDR”), wild tulips, crocuses, winterlings and snowdrops, for example, go wild.

With a bit of luck, a few bulbs will eventually grow into a large number of plants.

All of these rather filigree and small plants come into their own when planted in larger groups.

If you missed the chance in autumn, you can alternatively plant plants that are brought forward in spring, which are usually already blooming when you buy them.

After snowdrops and more have heralded spring, irises, hyacinths, tulips and later daffodils slowly venture out.

Coltsfoot can also be found outdoors in nature in February, which serves as food for insects and birds.

Depending on the weather, plants such as willow, hazel and cornel with their blossoms join the bulbous flowers in February.

Meanwhile, the spring rose, which is slowly replacing the snow rose, serves as a beautiful grave decoration.
