It's a day that seems to allow us to see the end of the tunnel.

The government estimated, via spokesperson Gabriel Attal, that there are “reasons to hope” that “at the end of March at the beginning of April we can lift the vaccination pass”, due to the improvement in the health situation, a he declared this Wednesday, at the exit of the Council of Ministers.

“The frank decline, we are there”, rejoiced Gabriel Attal.

A decrease that can be seen in the figures for the number of new cases published by Public Health France in recent days.

On the other hand, this slowing down of the epidemic is not (yet) obvious in hospitals.

Another 2,614 new entries of people diagnosed with Covid-19 were recorded this Wednesday (3,060 yesterday), compared to 3,230 a week ago.

In total, 32,878 patients treated in hospitals are positive for Covid, against 32,720 seven days ago.

A very high, almost record level, which seems to be starting to stagnate.

Be careful however, almost 30% of them, despite their infection, are not treated for Covid but for another reason.

More than 37 million booster doses injected

The most serious cases, hospitalized due to the coronavirus, taken care of in critical care services, are decreasing with 3,503 patients this Wednesday evening (3,555 yesterday) against 3,700 a week ago.

In the past 24 hours, 296 new entries have been recorded, compared to 366 a week ago.

The number of deaths since the start of the epidemic, almost two years ago, amounts to 133,541, with 255 deaths, after an infection, notified to the hospital in the last 24 hours.

On the vaccination side, while a fourth dose has again been ruled out by the government's "mister vaccine", Professor Alain Fischer, the third dose recall campaign seems to be marking time.

Nearly 200,000 booster injections have nevertheless been performed in the past 24 hours and 19,000 first injections (against 14,000 yesterday).

The bar of 37 million people having received a booster dose has been crossed.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 54,134,744 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 80.3% of the total population) and 52,992,487 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 78.6% of the total population).
