Covid-19: Health Insurance launches a new service to simplify the management of contact cases

2022-02-10T14:53:36.029Z

A new tool makes it possible to draw up a list of contact cases online, notify them and detail the procedure to follow.

The Omicron variant changed that.

The hundreds of daily contaminations recorded since the end of December had already led Health Insurance to abandon the systematic telephone call to positive people, the 6,000 agents assigned to contact tracing being overwhelmed.

Only 60,000 people a day received a call every day in mid-January, for more than 300,000 daily cases.

From now on, the rule is to send a simple SMS which until now redirected to the Ameli site, positive people being invited to notify their contact cases themselves.

A tedious process that Health Insurance simplifies with the launch of the “List my contact cases” teleservice.

Accessible on the Internet, it allows anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 to establish their contact cases online by helping them to identify their period of contagiousness and risk situations.

It only takes about ten minutes.

Contact cases automatically prevented

Listing the first names, surnames and contact details of the persons concerned allows Health Insurance to immediately send them personalized health instructions in terms of testing and isolation according to their vaccination status.

This operation simplifies the life of contact cases since once registered in the Health Insurance "Contact Covid" database, thanks to the declaration made by the positive person, they will be able to more easily benefit from the support of the tests. screening, especially for unvaccinated people.

And, if it is impossible to work from home, they will be directed to the declare.ameli.fr site to request a work stoppage.

As a reminder, contact cases with a complete vaccination schedule or who were infected with Covid less than six months ago must carry out a PCR or antigen test before carrying out a self-test on D + 2 and D + 4. The others must self-isolate immediately and test seven days after last contact with the positive person.
