(ANSA) - FLORENCE, 10 FEB - There were 1,721,637 visitors to the Uffizi Galleries in Florence in 2021, with an increase of 42.7% compared to the previous year, marked by the lockdown.
Lacrescita, explains a note, concerns both the Gallery of the Statues of Paintings in the Vasari building (969,695 visitors, + 47.1% compared to 659,043 in 2020), and the Boboli Garden (512,633, + 46.9% compared to the 2020), and Palazzo Pitti (239,309, + 20.7% compared to 2020).
The growth in the number of young people visiting the museum is stable: the under 25s in 2021 were 326,185, almost 100,000 more than the year before (+ 42.3%).
Income also increased, from 9,806,783 euros in 2020 to 14,742,830 (+ 50.3%), with ticketing revenues increased by + 58.9%, going from 7,427,105 euros to 11,802,916.
A winning choice is also the diversification of the sources of income outside of ticketing, such as the sale of a digital screen printing of the Tondo Donicertified with Nft technology, which contributed 13% to the 2021 budget. Last year also recorded the restoration of 78 works, while 79 restoration and architectural design interventions were carried out.
25 exhibitions were organized: 10 at the Galleries and 15 'off-site' (from Forlì to Nîmesa Hong Kong),
but above all 10 trips that are part of the Uffizi Diffusi initiative.
During 2021 the artistic heritage of the Galleries was enriched thanks to 8 donations of works and 15 acquisitions.
