A subject of society
Director Fabien Gorgeart was inspired by his story to write the screenplay: his parents have been foster families like the heroes of the film who have been raising Simon, 6, since he was 18 months old.
He is the darling of the household, the adored little brother of the two biological children, but one day, his father returns to regain custody.

nuanced writing
Everything here is intelligence, empathy and sensitivity: impossible to judge the "real" dad, who has nothing of the social situation often depicted in this type of story, or to blame the loving mother, so ravaged by the idea of a possible separation that she makes bad choices.
The outcome will inevitably be painful for one of them, but the film remains very solar, like its actress.
An inhabited interpreter
Already crowned with the Valois for actress at the last Francophone Film Festival in Angoulême, Mélanie Thierry impresses: her look says both the injustice of which her character feels victim, the deep love she has for this child and the despair that overcomes her.
A great actress for a great movie.
