Gioacchino Gammino, mafia boss of the "Stidda" and considered one of the 20 most dangerous fugitives, returns to Italy.
Spain has given the green light to the execution of the European arrest warrant, issued on 29 May 2014 by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Agrigento Court.
The surrender of Gammino, a fugitive for 20 years, following his escape from prison - explains a note from the Ministry of Justice - is the result of fruitful and intense cooperation between judicial and central authorities, which took place quickly.
Gioacchino Gammino's return to Italy is scheduled for Friday 11 February in Fiumicino.
