According to a Bloomberg report, the next Assassin's Creed installment will be smaller than Valhalla.

"Assassin's Creed Valhalla"* is one of the most extensive parts of the series.

The main game takes hundreds of hours if you want to complete all the main and side missions.

As if that wasn't enough, Ubisoft has provided plenty of supplies with the expansions - in March the next big DLC is already in the starting blocks with "Dawn of Ragnarok".

Industry expert Jason Schreier has now revealed in a Bloomberg report that the developers had even planned another expansion.

But this should now become an independent game.

New Assassin's Creed is getting smaller with a bigger focus on stealth

According to the report, the "Assassin's Creed" game has the project name "Rift".

In it,

Basim

, one of the Hidden Ones from "Valhalla", is said to be the playable character.

The game should be

smaller than the last "Assassin's Creed" parts

.

So the open world should be exchanged for a

greater focus on stealth-based gameplay

.

Many fans have requested such a move because the content of "Valhalla" was so overwhelming and extensive.

However, this information is not official yet.

Bloomberg relies on anonymous sources.

According to the report, said game will be released

in late 2022 or sometime in 2023

appear before the next big project "Assassin's Creed Infinity" comes on the market.

One reason for turning the expansion into a standalone game is that Ubisoft wants to increase the

gap between new Assassin's Creed releases

.

A few years ago, the company stopped releasing a new part every year.

This leaves a gap that can easily be filled with smaller offshoots.

Ubisoft has already established that this works well with the "Far Cry" series, where spinoffs such as "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon", "Far Cry Primal" or "Far Cry New Dawn" were very successful.
